Coming along nicely…
January 26, 2013 by skopelosnews
Our roving photojournalist Mike has been out and about along Rodeo Drive, and this is the state of play as of yesterday (Friday). He reports what looks like a comprehensive watering system for the flora along the route, lots of space for what Lawrence Durrell called “the devil-car”, and plenty of capacity in the road despite the narrowing effect of the pedestrianization. He also reports that the team of builders from Trikala is putting in straight 8am-7pm shifts to finish the project. All it needs now is the palm-prints of all the recent mayors, although we understand there may be a further layer of paving on top of the concrete visible in the photos. Skopelosnews will be deploying a team of expert flâneurs (look it up) to report back when it’s finished.
I’ll bet that the concrete will be covered be some type of paving stone or brick.
Will the suggested parking maneuver be “head in straight”, “head in diagonal”, “parallel”, or “anyway you want”?
“Up a tree”? They park in them in Athens…
the parking, especially in the summer, will be anywhere that people can get a car to go, including on the road, so expect more accidents on the beautiful boulevard. skopelos doesnt have enough parking spaces as it is, perhaps another mistake to remove so many although the idea of a footpath is great. anyone noticed what happens to footpaths in greece?
