The Panhellenic Seamens Federation continues their 48 hour strike until Friday 06:00. However some ships are moving, The Flying Cat 5 left Skopelos today at 07:15 for Volos.
Express Skiathos sails from Volos at 9am.
The strike will continue but be concentrated on the port of Piraeus. Regional ports will be open. But for how long?

We hear from locals over here that many seamen have apparently had no salary at all for five months now. I know it causes hardship but who can wonder at them striking under these circumstances?
[It was good to see that 'greekseamen' are/is reading, and responding to, this blog.]
Thanks for that To Vima link, Skiathian. I’d like to see how the British government and media would respond if, say, British Rail or London Transport employees went on strike to protest five months unpaid pay and attempts to deny their employee rights. Although now I think about it, they have been known to deploy the Army, although usually to do the work of the strikers, not beat them up…
a friend of mine in glossa works on the flying cat he wasn’t paid all last summer..the family structures keep them all going..
