Not everybody knows that there is a legal battle going on between the Kosma family from Glisteri beach and the Greek church. It is about land and after a long legal battle nothing is decided yet. The Kosma family claims the land that the taverna stands on is theirs but the church is of another opinion and at 5 p.m on Monday, representatives from the church and court aides will arrive on Skopelos to discuss more but the last word is that the land that the taverna stands on will be taken by the representatives (monks) The Kosma family has asked everybody who supports them to come to Glisteri at 5.
Update Tuesday 15/10/2013 12.19 hours.
The church representatives were escorted by about 20 police in plain clothes and in full battle armor. The restaurant has been sealed off and nothing can be taken from the premises. The water supply to the above houses is cut of because it comes from the restaurant premises and is pumped up. Vangelis and Artemis Kosmas spend the night in jail and were handcuffed when taken of the premises in Glisteri. Nobody can enter the area of Glysteri, probably in the valley police will ask owners of neighboring land to id themselves before they can access their land. There was no roadblock on the cross road. Like Tom said in his comment the church plans to have bungalows build near the beach and have a private beach so do we have to say goodbye to Glysteri like many beaches on Evia? Many are not accessible anymore.
