Workshop fundraiser

As many already know, the Armoloi ceramics workshop outside of town was devastated by the floods of late September. Though a few things were untouched, thousands of Euros worth of unpainted pottery was lost as well as expensive equipment (one 2000€ kiln) which need to be replaced. Volunteers have already joined in an effort to clean the mud and rubble, trees and branches out of the workshops. Almost knocked over, the two workshop buildings now need some reconstruction for stability.

I (Tom) spoke with Elena and her daughter Dimitra the other day and they told me that the workshop will need 8000 euros (which they don’t have) to get started again. As “outbuildings” their home insurance doesn’t cover the workshops or stock so the two are really starting from scratch.

In desperation, Dimitra and Elena have decided to ask the community for help to get the Armoloi artists working again. Their brand new Indiegogo fundraising campaign can be found here.
