The horse shown on this photograph (by Mike) is protected during the day and night? by this “beautiful” blanket which I (Daphne) have seen spread out on beds too. The horse is lucky!

The Skopelos plane saw massacre

This one’s for Annelize, although everyone is welcome to suggest other awful puns in the comments below. We witnessed some drastic tree surgery on the giant plane tree (at least, we think it’s a plane) that until midday yesterday loomed over the Dokos and Avgo bars on the Skopelos seafront. As the monster used to cast Avgo, at least, into arboreal gloom after midday, the radical pollarding should make Pantelis’s bar, and the new children’s playground, lighter and sunnier. And someone got a bumper pile of firewood for next winter.
