Sunday May 1
The Scramblers’ cemetery/town walk attracted walkers from previous years who have now arrived in Skopelos for their summer retreat, with a total of 15 walkers and three dogs. The beginning of the climb was strenuous but well worth the effort, with views of Skopelos town in the morning sunshine. At the top of the ridge they were able to admire the wild flowers and even pick some. The final reward was coffee downtown accompanied by tasty cake.
Sunday May 8
The meeting point will be Carrefour supermarket at 10.30am, where transport will be arranged to the new road over the island, which is the beginning of the walk. For those who haven’t been there before it will be a nice surprise, as they will visit Agios Evstasios, with its magnificent archway, and Agios Giorgios, where Muriel will spread out the now famous blue checked tablecloth to welcome a shared picnic.
The Scramblers will be back in Skopelos town by 2.30pm.
