Jannis and Katherina are from the Czech Republic and are here on holiday.
They like Glysteri beach, which is a beach without umbrellas and sunbeds and with visible signs from the flood of last September. Jannis and Katherina go to the beach, but not only to swim and sunbathe. They clean it also! Mrs. Ioanna from Volos was also on the beach and helped cleaning too!
This post was inspired by a post from Jannis Xatzitrakokas, who happened to be on the beach and posted something about the cleanup on Facebook. Skopelosnews saw his post and asked the vice major to get a garbage bin to Glysteri. This will be done and hopefully the bin will be emptied regularly. Jannis makes a point when he says that every beach should be clean and because Glysteri has no beds and umbrellas that does not mean it should be forgotten. Fortunately there are many people who love this beach very much and clean it after they had a swim.
Anne took these photographs (thank you!) of the bags full of garbage and the beach afterwards. About eight bags were filled.
