For the last couple of weeks heavy machinery have been working at the back of the Glysteri beach. The whole area is cleaned and is without rocks, bushes and garbage now. Only along the boundaries of the land, directly behind the beach, big rocks have been placed so no cars can enter the private land. When you are coming from Skopelos and reach Glysteri, towards the end, there is an asphalt road on your left. This road leads to the beach.
The rumors, about what will happen with the land, are flying around the island but like most things in life you cannot say what is going to happen until it happens and that is what we do. We enjoy the beach and many with us. A lot of visitors and many locals have been commenting on how beautiful it is that this beach is just a beach with anything except the people on it (and sometimes a dog and some goats) The beach is cleaned by the people who care about it and after a request a bin has been placed and it is emptied regularly.
The only thing that concerns me (Daphne) is that the entrance to the beach will stay as it is and no fence or door will be installed. Beaches are for everybody and that is how it is supposed to stay. So what is happening with the land behind the beach? Your guess is as good as mine.
