SIFFY 2017

The Skopelos International Film festival for Youth is in its fifth day. Yesterday was the last day of filming and today the children will start editing their films together with the film directors. This year’s theme Mother Earth has given the children a lot of ideas for films, also because of the people who told them about the subject!

Please come to the amphitheater of the elementary school on the ring road on Wednesday evening at 21.00 hours. Bring a pillow. It is going to be wonderful !!!

We always see each other when she is walking her beautiful dog. We greet each other and I will continue driving and she walks on with her beautiful black dog. I don’t know her name. She knows mine now and I want to thank her for coming up to me and say the kind words she said. It is for people like her that I write this blog.

Anna and Karidia tsiporadiko/taverna. These were two names that belonged together for many years. Anna had the best mezedes in the whole of Skopelos. She would always greet you with the biggest smile and was generous to everybody. She was a good person looking out for everyone and that is why her restaurant was so popular. She had many friends from abroad who kept in touch after she left Skopelos.

Anna has had a cerebrovascular accident and was treated in the KAT hospital in Athens where she unfortunately died on Monday. She was buried yesterday afternoon at 17.30 in Kifisia.
A dear friend of Anna’s has asked us if we could publish something about Anna on the blog because many foreign visitors and residents knew her and of course we answered yes!

“Everything was going so well for her” Anna was working as a chef in a restaurant in Athens, her children were doing well and life was good. It is unbelievable the life of this wonderful person was cut short in such a terrible way. Our sincere condolences to her son and daughter and the rest of the family. Anne’s friend says;” She will be missed terribly but she will never be forgotten.
