This morning we had to pick up our children from the Proteus ferryboat that would arrive in Loutraki and we decided to go earlier so we could enjoy Loutraki.
We visited the town beach and the two small beaches on either side of the village. Looking out over the sea we saw boats coming and going and having a purpose.
Later we sat in the shade under the mulberry trees to the left of the harbor and wondered if we could escape a weekend and rent a room along the waterside?
We saw four people working on the same small fishing boat and when the ferry boat finally arrived comments flew back and forth about the tourist season, who was coming of the boat and who was leaving. The usual things in such a small community but it gives you a feeling that you belong….
Looks so peaceful and beautiful.
I’ve only been to Skopelos once in early June and it was one of my favourite visits. I might be in the very same spot on 15th July. Flights booked but will have to wait and see. Thanks for the photos.
Beautiful pictures reminding me how much I am missing Skopelos. Thanks Daphne and hopefully we will get there maybe in September if Greece lets us back after our bad response to Covid 19
Wonderful to see Daphne.
Looks great we would have been out there for last 2 weeks if it had not been for the Covid 19. We have really missed our time in Skopelos this year. We have coming to Skopelos since 2005. Only missed 2 years in that time. Would be deciding where to go for our last evening meal right now. We will be back as soon as we can. It’s our home from home.
Thank you so much for the lovely photos. I have not been to your beautiful island and hope to visit soon. Sue
Thanks Daphne.
Loutraki does not usually get the credit the rest of the island does but it does have a peaceful beauty made for walks and eating close to the water and quite afternoon coffee. Sorry we also will not be coming this summer, but God willing 2021 will be great there and we will make up for lost time.
We hope all small businesses will make it through the season and the year.
Beautiful Skopelos, how I miss you!
Thank you, Daphne!
Thank you for the photos and this “life page” on Skopelos. We hope for all of you a great summer despite all the difficulties
Love this post and pictures of Loutraki! It looks beautiful and peaceful as always. Wish that we could come this year, but the unfortunate consequences of COVID-19 will keep us from visiting Greece. Can’t wait to get back soon – keep the posts coming, we certainly miss Loutraki!
Thank you, Daphne, for the nice fotos! So at least we can look at some pictures of Skopelos since we are not able to come to the island in person.
