I cherish that we live on such a beautiful island. An island where most people know each other. Where people come together, in big numbers when times are hard. Where the saying; να χαίρεσε την οικογενεία σου (cherish your family) is said by so many people these days.
I cherish the fact that these days grown up children walk around the villages on the island and sing traditional Christmas songs for us.
I cherish the communication between the readers of this blog and me. I cherish you!

Thank you Daphne so much for keeping Skopelos News going. We have so much enjoyed the three holidays we have had on the island but haven’t been able to come since before the pandemic for various reasons. Your blog is a lovely way of keeping us in touch with our favourite Greek Island, its life and culture. We really hope that there will be an opportunity to come in 2023. We are trying to limit ourselves to one flight a year to help save the planet so lets hope our none flight next year will be to you. Have a wonderful Christmas. John and Janet Hulett

And the connection to you, Daphne, and to our friends from Skopelos gives our life an additional, beautiful value! Looking forward to meeting you and your family again in 2023 and all the best from Munich, Ute and Hans (and yes, may our dream come true …)
We have one grapefruit tree, giving much more than we can eat. We put a basket full of grapefruits next to the road for a couple of days now. Every day the basket is emptied. Today somebody left a note, thanking us and wishing us happy new year. That feels nice.
I wish all on Skopelos and all the readers of the blog a very good 2023 with health and happiness.
