Last Sunday, as a part of the Skopelos carnival, the Trates gathering started at the municipal cafe. About six boat crews gathered there and showed of their boats. Singing and dancing took places and we were amazed by the inventive costumes that were shown off. Later the boats and their crews roamed the street of Skopelos.
Tomorrow, Sunday, around 15.00 hours the Skopelos Wedding party (oi Kales) will start walking, dancing and singing in the streets of Skopelos. Starting point the cultural and folklore “headquarters” close to the folklore museum.
Many people will be dressed in traditional Greek costumes from Skopelos and the rest of Greece. If you want to find the group look for them on the village squares and follow the singing.
