Armoloi gallery Christmas sale

As in recent years, the Armoloi crafts gallery on the paralia below Sotos rooms is holding a fifty per cent off Christmas sale, running until December 30. The shop is open 11am-1pm daily, and most evenings from 7-9pm, but you might be advised to visit mornings. It will be closed on Christmas Day, and also January 1.

Tourism marketing from the Colonels’ 1960s…

Ominous rumblings over at the dimarkeion where, according to the Voreies Sporades website, there are discussions about a new tourism logo for these budget-straitened times. The municipality has apparently decided to ditch the 2012 ‘fried egg’ logo (below), and one proposal is to re-adopt an earlier logo (above), linked to the perhaps unfortunate 1967 International Year of Tourism programme launched by, well, those tourism-crazy Colonels. We’re beset by visions of what might politely be called someone’s inability to organize a drinks reception at a hops-based alcoholic beverage production facility.
