Another slow news day up here on the 25th floor of the Skopelosnews Tower, but we would be derelicting our duty if we didn’t point out the treacherous conditions on the slope up from the Archipelagos crafts gallery to the Mercurius Bar, above Πλατεία 25ησ Μαρτίου, ‘25th of March Square’, on the paralia. A few days ago, large chunks of the balcony jutting out above the street leading up from Barramares starting detaching themselves from the structure and crashing to the ground. Neighbours alerted the municipality, which duly surrounded the structure with warning tape, but many people are still risking concussion or worse by ducking under it. We recommend following us the long way round until the structure is secure.

This butterfly landed on my son Christopher’s hand, and stayed there for several minutes. It then flew to the nearest bush and a few seconds later returned to Christopher’s hand before eventually flying into the surrounding trees. This happened on the upper road near Vathia beach road entrance July 2014.
